It's be alot more like a massive resistance like Vietnam protestors more than National Pride and a coming together of America

Wouldn’t need to. That’s the whole point of guided misses, drones, and of course nukes. Plus whatever other secret tech the military has.

Have you been asleep since 2001?
You have fallen into the common trap that modern media and social media have created that the loud, brash minority pushing their SJW bullshite represents the majority of America. It doesn’t. While those fricks are marching and making internet manifestos, the vast majority of Americans are out working hard and raising families. At the end of the day, don’t frick with the US of A.

America spends over 50% of its yearly budget on military and defense spending, which is more than the next 8 highest spending countries combined.
We definitely have some technological advances we're sitting on in case a worst case scenario breaks out.
That helicopter that crashed going to kill Bin Ladin technically didn't exist. The world didn't think that technology existed. But the US government had already developed, tested, manufactured, trained, and used it.
That should tell you something.

You sound disappointed we sided with the Allies.

Exactly. They had things like GPS and touch screens decades before anyone else.
This isn’t the early to mid 1900s anymore. The military doesn’t need a massive as frick army anymore because of advanced tech.

The Poliboard is proof you are mistaken.

Would the present day in their prime generation step up. In a similar way as the "greatest generation" did

You don’t know what the future holds, and I’d be cautious of placing too much faith in technology to win wars as boots on the ground are the only real way to still win wars, and truthfully we are always only about 1 or 2 EMP’s from going back to the Stone Age.

I think so. However it would take a 9/11 or Pearl Harbor type event.
Posted on 5/27/18 at 11:06 am to Ponchy Tiger
It's not like we'd have troops marching through enemy territory getting picked off in record numbers.
I'd hope a war now would involve more air strikes, drones, long range weapons, etc. that will keep the humans more out of harm's way.

Would the cause of your hypothetical war be as just as the cause for WWII?
Or would be a pointless cause like Vietnam?
Posted on 5/27/18 at 11:16 am to Ponchy Tiger
Would they even have time to step up before the nukes start flying?

That’s not exactly accurate.

People VASTLY underestimate the unification of WWII. Hitler was a legitaimate threat to take over the world. If China and Russia rolled into Western Europe and started taking over countries and exterminating a populous, people would absolutely sign up to go to war.
Russia taking over a pennisula? Not so much.

Yeah I think people are forgetting about the whole nuclear weapons part.

There will never be another conventional world war. Technological advances guarantees that, as already mentioned by several posters.
We are far ahead of everyone else in the development of war technology. No one, even China with their vast numbers, would risk a conventional war with us today. During the Korean War they threw their millions of soldiers at us but still had to settle for a draw. And that was in their backyard.
With the added deterrence of nuclear weapons, where again the U.S. is technologically superior, I just can't see anyone risking a full scale war with us.
