Why on earth would we go to war with Russia?

They aren’t the commies anymore.

The next world conflict won’t last long enough to get a draft or volunteer force going. As soon as the losing country admitted to itself that there was no winning it would launch nukes and everyone involved would join in.

I'm too old to be drafted but I'd fight if I was needed.

I'm sure this sounded good bouncing around in your skull before you typed this thought.

I’m content with all volunteers. Hollywoods elite would freak out when they’d have to go 10, 20, or even 30 plus days without a shower and possibly without a decent meal.

Them pink hat wearers would lose it after getting smoked from what I’m sure would be their inability to wear their watch cap correctly.

I think you mean president bone spurs. Bigger coward than anyone in Hollywood and has already shown he would abandon his country without a second thought.

That is the most ignorant comment I have ever read on this site.

I don’t think a war like WWII is possible again. We would probably wipe each other out before that could happen. Also, I kind of think they would have no choice because if it came to that the war would more than likely be here as well.

Wouldn’t need to. That’s the whole point of guided misses, drones, and of course nukes.

You won't ever win without putting boots on the ground. As far as nukes, out side of rogue regime or terrorist I don't think anyone will use nukes. If one of the major powers open that box it would be the end of everything.

Yes, I think many would step up if it were a legit threat to our country.

And based on this thread, apparently many would be surprised.

People of all ages surprise me. I’ve seen people rally in desperate times that I thought would certainly crawfish. Then I’ve seen people who I thought were solid folk sink like a bitch when things get rough.

Don’t let the Twitter/Instagram mafia fool you into thinking there are no 18-25 year old out there who were raised with values.

Depends. If our lives were literally at stake, the dogs of war would be let off the leash. If the conflict was purely political or over oil or money, I don’t think there would be a ton of support. But that’s the way it has always been. Despite our history, American people have always searched for a moral reason to fight. What we see is nothing new. The internet just makes it easier to see.

I promise, there are still many people willing and able to fight. Stacking bodies is what we fricking do. For the right reasons.

Say a direct war with Russia or China or even if WW III broke out. Would the present day in their prime generation step up. In a similar way as the "greatest generation" did. Would a draft be brought back? If so would people go willingly or run. What about the Hollywood and professional athletes? Would today's stars step up like the Ted Williams and Jimmy Stewart's of the day did?

what a stupid, fricking pointless argument.

just throw out some shite that wont possibly happen so people can say their side will be right if it fits their agenda.

we will never need a civilian army as was needed during past conflicts. 100,000 troops are more useless than 1 aircraft so why would we throw human lives away in that way?

There is a old saying. It goes you are better to keep your mouth shut and be thought of as a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt. You would be best to start following this.

Why would they? The generation in power has proven they have no clue on managing war efforts. Get the Boomers out of office and we will talk.

Yes, because if Mark Zuckerberg was in charge it would all go swimmingly.
