Do you do nothing to avoid death?
Do you not take any steps to avoid killing others?
I mean Something are inevitable, but to the extent they are not, I do at least the bare minimum to avoid getting killed/killing others.
You can do everything right and die in a car accident, but you should still wear your seatbelt, obey traffic laws and not drive while drunk.

ok. i think it's stupid to pretend you are actually doing anything to prevent spread by wearing a cloth mask that doesn't seal to your face at all.

No, n95 masks are effective. There is no such thing though as a properly sealed cloth mask.

Except a car accident is vastly more likely to result in serious injury or death than getting this virus. Apparently the whole concept of asymptomatic infection is beyond your grasp, even though they may now be an order of magnitude more than symptomatic folks.

A sneeze that travels 6’ is more dangerous than one that travels 5’. 5’ is less than 6’ if you didn’t know. Mask reduce travel distance of cough sneeze spit when talking.

Because the laws of physics regarding fluid dynamics changes at 72 inches. Some of you are clueless on how liquids aerosolize and it shows. Also have zero concept of how a cough or sneeze completely blows the seal of even a well fitted mask. Guarantee that somebody who's infected, only has very mild symptoms to the point they only think it's allergies or some transient irritation, will sneeze, remove their mask to wipe their nose (probably with said mask if it's cloth) then proceed to handle objects around them thereby bypassing any small amount infection control that mask might have provided.

Wearing a mask is somewhat effective. Social distancing is somewhat effective. Washing hands is somewhat effective. Not touching your mouth is somewhat effective. Individually, none of these will absolutely prevent you from getting sick. Even doing all of them won't absolutely prevent it, but your risk for catching/spreading a virus decreases significantly.
And I hate wearing masks.

That basically again is going against everything recommended.
I don't get why people use examples of people not following recommendations to attack the recommendation.
If I told You to wear a seatbelt, you wouldn’t argue, well most people don’t wear it correctly so why should anyone wear it at all?

Take a bottle of windex and spray it in the air.Let's say that's a sneeze or spray from a person's mouth.
Now hold a mask up and spray the windex into it.

If you saw someone not wearing a seatbelt and someone else wearing it around their head and neck or using a piece of string tied to the door and the console across their chest, you'd consider the former an a-hole and the latter a noble citizen making an effort? Would you say the latter is substantively more protected than the former?
Who is the bigger a-hole, the guy who wears a bandanna over his mouth in the middle of massive group of people, or the guy who doesn't wear a mask and just avoids close contact with others?
Why are kids under 10 exempt from wearing a mask? Why are schools closed?
