Again, stop arguing in bad faith dude. That's not how it works. Masks protect others from you.

Why should I have to wear a mask if those at risk are wearing a mask as they should? If they're not wearing a mask, why is that my problem?

Do you walk around every cold and flu season with a mask to minimize risk of spreading to others? If not, will you be doing so going forward?

I asked this question earlier and got crickets.

The people who are at risk are not going to protect themselves by wearing a mask, they’re going to protect themselves by YOU wearing a mask and not contaminating the surfaces that they touch.

I asked on the last page but have asked probably 10-15 times over the last couple months and not a reply. IRL when I’ve asked people just shrug their shoulders. Folks suddenly “care” when it’s the popular thing to do

I said This isn’t the flu.

If this was the flu I’d agree this is completely blown out of proportion, but the flu doesn’t kill as many people as this already has while we take almost no real precautions against it:

Do you worry more about shark attacks or car accidents?

Oh, so 61,000 deaths don't matter to you? At what number of deaths do you start caring enough to wear a mask?

So you don’t care about possibly spreading the flu, which kills people of all ages. Got it.

GFY.

You’re saying I shouldn't Be more worried about a virus that’s killing twice as many people while everyone is taking extreme precautions against it?

My sincere honest answer is shark attacks, but my wife and kids love the beach. I mostly worry about my kids being attacked

Fair enough. Maybe not the best examples.

If I shot you with a 9mm instead of a 30-06 would that make it ok?

I’ll answer for him. Only when the deaths occur in an election year and he has a raging case of OMB.

Our heels are dug in, I initially came in just to mess around, obviously I don’t really think y’all are nasty. I also don’t have an issue with people wearing a mask, that would be dumb to be upset about. I just don’t wear them unless a private business makes me and of course at work on shifts I’m on the ambulance I am required to. Sammy Tiger you seem like a good sport, there’s good people who do and don’t wear mask

I would still be more worried about the 30-06.

Wouldn’t you?

I am less worried about spreading a less deadly disease that has a vaccine.

Yes.

I would say doubling it is a good start.

I would also say if the flu killed twice as many people, while everyone was sheltering at home, social distancing, and there was no vaccine for it, I’d take it a lot more seriously.

Being that when our child was undergoing chemotherapy/stem cell transplants we had to wear a mask and gloves around her- I have had this thought too. I would assume that if you have someone that is at a higher risk at home then you would and should in fact wear a mask when coming in contact with them.
