This is what happens when you put the engineers out and let the money people dictate business

That'll buff right now.
Collapse was less dramatic than I expected after watching the video. Crazy the wheel went opposite direction of how it folds up under the belly.

The strangest thing about this story is that it was at the gate, Frankfurt dumps me on the tarmac.

Good thing it didn't happen during takeoff.

just flew both ways to over the Atlantic last month on a brand new AA 787-9. It was a nice plane, very comfortable. I hate to hear this.

Should of never canceled the 747.

The new Airbus NEO series are amazing. Been on them a few times as of late.

Maintenance crews were working on it. This wasn’t some random mechanical failure.

I don’t have an opinion on that, one way or the other (I’m an engineer), but this plane was probably designed 20 years before that happened. And this failure will probably turn out to be human error. Planes’ gear generally don’t collapse at the moment it has the least stress on it possible.

Easy fix, just call AAA to tow it back to the hanger

Sometimes I've had to deplane several miles from the terminal. (Usually on flights into Frankfurt from the Middle East.)
