Regarding cow vs brown cow; I personally don’t say that. Describing the cow was just the way I heard it from the good old country boys (men really, they were 50+ ) in Winn Parish in the early 1970s.
They liked to make it a little more colorful i guess.
And, people around here say “colder than a well diggers arse in the Yukon”. But I prefer “colder than a witches tit in a brass brassiere”.
