Michael was headed right for where I lived in the panhandle but they they called that turn really early on. I was puckered up right up until it actually made that turn.

My wife’s hospital was trying to get her to run their clinic in Lakeland. No extra hazard pay or anything
I told her to just call in if they do.

The guy who said his friend that lives in port Charlotte 10 feet above sea level may want to reconsider staying. Surge could be over 10 feet if it takes a direct hit
That was me. I’ve been begging them to leave since yesterday. She replied a little while ago that they’re locked in at this point, but admitted they should have left. She says their surge is projected at 5-7, but when I put her address in the generator someone posted,it spit back 8ft. Still too close for comfort for me. They have a generator and supplies. Their home is that cinder block style, but that screened in cover over their pool is going to be a tangled mess when this is done.

Why is it too late for them to leave?? I have NO idea about that part of Florida ..
EDIT although the google map that someone posted earlier shows all green traffic wise in that area ...
God speed to them.

My buddy in Oviedo is committed to reporting live from his pool, beer in hand during the storm

Map on the previous page here showed three areas with tornadoes quite a ways east of Naples.

It's not too late. Not by a long shot.

Currently two warnings regarding radar indicated rotation.

Florida man + hurricane.
The streams could be entertaining.

So we're just north of Vermilion Bay here in Louisiana ... cat 2/maybe 3 I'm thinking of staying ... cat 4 or 5? F no. Area looks similar to where your friend is.

Be glad it did. My MIL went back in November to help our family friends clear the beachfront condo out and the videos from then, even trying to just actually get down there (trees on roads) was unreal, not to mention the fresh damage and they couldn't even get down to the worst part of Mexico Beach at that time. Our friends house was on stilts and survived fine, but had a decent bit of wall damage (stucco) that lead to a big mold issue, and with insurance and all they were out of their home for 6+ months.
