I just went to Home Depot and Walmart got a generator, an AC, Tarps, 5 more cases of water (must be up to 30 right now), batteries, filled up 3 gas cans.

You would have thought it was a normal Tuesday morning.

ETA: Oh and toilet paper was completely in stock

3 days before Hurricane Michael hit Florida as a Cat 5, NHC projections had it hitting as a Cat 1



They get intensity wrong all the time, not to mention they are forecasting rapid intensification, which is notoriously hard to pinpoint

Why? You can fly to Cuba now if you want...I would suggest waiting a few weeks.

I heard that impact point has changed from Tampa to Port Charlotte. Any truth to that? Pretty sure it was wxman

At this point go with NHC and trusted local weather sources for critical updates.

No. The NHC guidance just released still has it hitting just south of St. Pete going NE.
