Talk to a real practicing oncologist that treats cancer all day every day

In 20 years cancer will probably be considered an unpleasant, but usually manageable disease, like many other chronic diseases people live with.

I have a couple of doctor friends and I will talk to them but I do not have any friends that are oncologists. I hope I never have to talk to one.

Add at least another 0 to that number.

My brother utilized metabolic and immunotherapy for Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma. The immunotherapy almost killed him but he has scans every 6 months and the tumors are basically scar tissue now. Been 5 years. Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma used to be a death sentence until Keytruda And Metabolics.

That’s asinine. Big Pharma has eradicated all kinds of diseases.

Like an MD, or as I call them, real doctors.

Buddy, a PhD in genetics is at least as well educated and qualified as an MD. These were doctors long before an Medical Practitioner was considered a doctor.

Didn’t Steve Jobs try something like this? Didn’t work out so well for him

good thread, Pot. I've heard a few people in real life talk about both sides of this (good/bad), and I find it interesting to say the least. Sorry about your mom.

FWIW, my mom died of breast cancer in 2014. If she knew about this approach I know she would have had great success (b/c other than breast cancer she was incredibly healthy and disciplined) and would probably still be here today. She just did not have the knowledge.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, GP. Sounds like she went far too young.

Regarding her being here today, there are BC interventions and understanding now, which were not in place 9-10 yrs ago. Had she presented in 2023 instead of 2013, she might be curable or at least better treatable. Seyfried's material is not part of that equation though. Don't worry yourself further.

Cancers still gonna get glucose

able to compete with the cancer cells for those few glucose molecules available while under ketosis.

Here’s the problem with that math. Cancer is not detectable in the human body until the number of cancer cells is 1x10^9, or 1 Billion. 3 dimensional that is about 1 cm tumor. Cancer is lethal when the tumor volume reaches 1x10^12, or 1 trillion cancer cells. The human body has approximately 30x10^12 cells, or 30 trillion. Chemo and other treatments have an impact, typically on bone marrow derived cells, like red and white cells, or epithelial cells of the guy. However they typically recover in 10-14 days. Even if they didn’t, you are still not going to materially change the ratio of 30:1 as there will always has been and will be way more normal cells than cancer cells. Perhaps they have some tumor models that show extremely high tumor to normal ratios where an acute change in glucose produced an effect, but those models are not applicable to human physiology, unfortunately.

Why?

They could just patent a FDA approved version of this DON and have a universal treatment for cancer. They cure a cancer and that person alive until they get another cancer and need another round of DON. You think all the companies colluded to cover that up? They are so cut throat on of the companies would break that pact.

Seems like a great profitable model for them.

Your hypothesis doesn’t make sense but sounds good on the surface because we can blame a random terrible event (cancer) on a hypothetical entity

I shouldn't have said gone. I was using that term loosely. The professor indicated that for the metabolic approach to work well the glucose to ketone ratio needs to be 2 or lower.

In particular, I’m leery of non-treating doctors publishing books on treatments that fall outside of the norm.
