I was reminded of the following event this morning.
Starting my first thread here, so be gentle with the grammer and spelling corrections ??.

As I was watering the farm animals this morning, it reminded me of a funny story that happened when we lived 8+ years in Peru as missionaries. It is a little long, but worth it at least to me.

Our refrigerator did not have an ice maker (most in Peru do not, as most Peruvians do not like drinking cold liquids. They believe it gives them the cold). Therefore, in order to have cold water in our home we would have to fill a pitcher each night and put it in the refrigerator in order to have cold water the next day.

Well, with that being said, I started filling the pitcher and got distracted. As a result, I forgot to turn the water off and put the pitcher in the fridge. So as your mind is taking you, the water ran all night. Instead of just overflowing the pitcher and the water just going down the drain, the pitcher tipped over the side of the sink with the spout down.

When I woke up the next morning and walked to the front of the house, I stepped in like 2" of water!! OH NO!! I realized what I had done. I rushed to the kitchen to find water pouring out of the pitcher like a fountain and water was everywhere.

We lived on the 2nd floor of a concrete and brick home above of a storefront (a Christian bookstore was below us). After turning the water off I saw that though the front part of our home had flooded, and the water was pouring down our stairs out into the street like a river. Plus with water always finding its level, found ways to leak through our floor and damage some of the books of the bookstore below.

Needless to say it took me a while to clean things up, and Praise the Lord the bookstore below was not mad at me. As all accidents, it was not funny at the moment, but looking back, it is one of my favorite "funny" stories.from missionary life.

tldr:
Water left on all night, sink overflowed and flooded house and damaged some of neighbor's property.

This is not the right board for this kind of story.
