You’re right I thought money and entertainment were more important than human life too
you think a potential depression isn't going to take a metric frick ton of "human life"?
hell i posted data that people who simply enter the work force during a recession lose years on their lives

the problem is that their mentality is only what's right in front of them. it's why these are the same people who are driven to immediate panic more often

This is the MFB Virus. Media Fueled bullshite Virus.
Swine flu was worse. It killed children, young people, old people. It did not discriminate. This virus doesn't even seem to bother children.
We've lost more people to the flu in the past two weeks than we have the MFB Virus.
So, this kills more old people and people who already have serious health issue?? Really? Name something other than crib death that does not kill the old and the sick faster.
This was media frenzy to hurt Trump. It got away from them. This is bullshite.
We need to let this thing run it's course. We can't shut down for every virus that comes down the pike.

The question isn't whether it works or not; the question is whether it's worth the cost. Whether it works or not is irrelevant really.

There is zero long term thought.
Despite the fact that governors and state governments have already commented on things being shut down for 30 days or more, people are now saying that the economy won’t be destroyed in only 2 weeks.
They have completely deluded themselves.
Their panic stricken mindsets have generated a storm that will last longer than 2 weeks.

2-3 weeks shouldn't bankrupt businesses
2-3 months will
I'm confident we won't see 2-3 months because of this

let me clarify. it's going to eventually "work" one way or another. we're just discussing costs prior to that end

I'm well aware of how all of this works. My post wasn't intended to be a 2 sentence commentary on the current state of the United States economy nor a prognostication of where it's headed. It was a simple rebuttal to someone saying "every industry is shut down".
You said they weren't critical industries. I disagree wholeheartedly.

Let’s not even discuss how long it will take people to convince themselves it will be fine to go out in public again, not to mention large gatherings.
And then, if someone gets sick at some major event or gathering, everything restarts.
