I read in today's paper that the paper (the Advocate) is going to partner with the Saints!

Should a newspaper "partner" with those they cover?

When it's time to ask tough questions, will they? Will they be critical if they start losing?

Or is this all part of the new age of journalism and being impartial no longer matters?

You are overthinking what it means for a local paper to partner with the local sports teams

It has nothing to do with "asking tough questions."

This has nothing to do with the Saints and everything to do with more ad dollars.

You are asking the right question but at the wrong time.

“Partner” with the Saints? NBD

Exhibit daily political bias in news stories (not editorials). Big problem.

Yes it is.

Saints/Advocate partnering is not as big of a deal, but it is a sign of the times. A news outlet shouldn't partner with anyone.

This isn't a sign of the times, it's always been this way. The Saints are just higher profile then what you've personally seen before. Do you think TV news won't report on an air bag recall just because car dealerships pay for more commercial time than any other entity? Do you think if a restaurant buys an ad in a newspaper, that paper won't report on it if the health department shuts it down because they don't want to lose dollars?

No

But I remember when local news had sponsors and their signs were on the news desk.

It use to be the ESSO Reporter here in BR on WBRZ. Brooks Read was the anchor. They quit that practice sighting a conflict of interest.

And you'd like to think a news outlet would sell ads and not become beholden to their customer. They probably try, but I doubt they can remain squeaky clean.

Do you think Nakamoto would ever do an expose' on trial lawyers? Or would Chawra do an investigative report on window companies?

I do not.

they already suck enough Saints dick. You can't even get to local news without having to read 25 stories on the saints.

So Coach Saban, how do you intend to rebound from the Clemson arse-kicking?

He was arrested and had charges dropped against him for exposing the white castle mayor. He also exposed another lawyer that was trading sexual favors for legal counsel. Still not sure what your point is

John Georges is more a fan of money than the Saints. God knows why he bothers with print media in light of that but I guess he has his angle.

I'm in the market for a personal injury attorney. Does anyone know who is the official personal injury attorney of the Saints?
