I lied to a girl I'm trying to impress, told her I can run a 5k in under 29 minutes (DONE)

UPDATE:Results on page 25.
She ran this same 5k last year and finished in 31 minutes. Me, not knowing anything about 5k times, said I usually run them under 29 minutes just so I could one up her. Paid $40 and signed up yesterday. The race is this Saturday. Never ran in my life. What is the best course of action? I'm 6'1, 190 lbs, probably what you would call 'skinny fat'. Can bench 185lbs 3x5, if that matters.
On the plus side, we're going on a date afterwards regardless of what happens.

Make sure you carb load before the race.
I prefer fettuccini Alfredo

Running less than a 10 minute mile pace should be easily doable at any age unless you’re just obese.

You time yourself yet? Now I want to time myself to see how fast I can run a 5k.

Pics to see if it’s worth it

Just make a blowjob bet with her on your time. If you finish under 29 minutes, she swallows, if you finish over that time you finish on her tits. Either way you get a blowjob out of it.

Should I even bother trying to run it before Saturday? I don't want to be in a situation where I'm too sore to perform on race day.

I think the best course of action here is to have a friend break your leg with a baseball bat. Make up a story about something heroic like saving a toddler from a pit bull.
Then show up to the race to cheer her on. She can't catch you in your lie, you score points for showing up anyway, and you'll get all sorts of sympathy points for having your leg in a cast.

I'm 57. 5'11.5, 199
I a 5K last year in 28:03.
On the plus side, I didn't have to make up any stories and still had sex after.

Shouldn’t be a problem. The worst you can do is go out too fast and redline too quick. Start at a slower pace and gradually pick it up if you can.

Anyone can run under a 10 minute mile. I don’t know many people who don’t run regularly who could do it for 3 miles straight.

That’s basically 9 1/2 minute miles (3) of them. If you are under 35 that shouldn’t be difficult.
My game plan if I was that out of shape would be to just run at her pace. 31 minutes is basically a fast walk.

I'm probably 10-15 lbs overweight and I run a 5k in just over 24 minutes

Running a 5k without any prep is not very smart. Get ready to vomit. If you are lucky, she will see it as a nice gesture. Don't back out or you will be seen as a liar.

You think this is impressive?

I ran a 5K recently after training for 4 days a week for 2 months. I'm 6'0", 175 lbs. I ran it in 26 minutes. It had some hills along the way.
You better hope your 5K is flat and you better start SLOW.
I think you're better off to fake a foot injury if the race is Saturday.
