It is under blown if anything.

And it's not just affecting the low-socio economic population. Wealthy, educated Americans are some of the worst abusers and even they have turn to heroin when they can't get the pain pills.

I know a lot of people who have had issues. 3 people from great families, with good college degrees, and solid jobs that have died from overdoses.

Pretty big deal, especially in rural areas.

People prescribed pain killers to deal with workplace injuries or car accidents get addicted even without abusing the dosage.

Then, Obama shielded Hezbollah from prosecution. They were trafficking in massive quantities of heroin from Afghanistan to fill needs of addicts once their scripts ran out. In fact, Obama's Defense Department even banned U.S. troops from destroying poppy fields to discourage its cultivation. Our government was protecting the drug trade at taxpayer expense.

5 guys I went to high school in north metro-Atlanta have died from overdoses, 2 of whom were my friends. All of them came from middle to upper-middle class families. Pain pills ain't shite to frick around with.

I’ve known about 6 dudes in the past two years that ODed. Not friends but people I knew in high school or friend’s family members. It’s kind of fricked up.

Like many in this thread, I've known people who are/have been addicted. These aren't poor people or people who grew up in broken households.

I mean it’s pretty serious. I’ve known several people from high class families that have OD’ed/died, or gotten addicted, been arrested, etc.

Some really sad stories out there. Some people doing this stuff that you would never imagine.

My cousin started out on pain pills. Then went to heroin. Now he's graduated to meth. Been in and out of rehab multiple times and spent time in prison for cooking meth.

shite is no joke.

Doctors and the government is quick to label pain sufferers as addicts and try to deny them medical treatment. For people with chronic diseases the stigma really hurts them. My cousin has fibromyalgia and sometimes he has trouble getting his medicine and when he misses a dose he gets incredibly sick. Nausea, diarrhea, almost flu like symptoms. It really is a terrible disease

Jeff Sessions says everyone should take aspirin post-surgery and the opioid epidemic will be solved. that and marijuana has led to the opioid epidemic as well.

Trump is the man, but Sessions is a worthless idiot.
