Sounds like colic. Bad news is there's not much you can do. Good news is that it'll pass. Good luck and hang in there.

Go on Amazon and buy an Ollie swaddle. Expensive, but worth it. I have a three year old and two month old. Both lived in it. Basically like a straight jacket for an infant. It’s a game changer.

Honest question,
How old are you and your wife?

Get a merlin magic sleep suit and a noise machine. Make sure is well fed right before bed.

Like other have said, sleep training is the way to go. It is definitely hard sitting there while your infant cries his damn head off but eventually they go to sleep and typically each night they go to sleep sooner until they get a cold or something and eff the whole thing up

Didn't read the thread but sounds like colic.
One of mine had it, screamed 6 hours or more every night- we turned on the vaccine cleaner and sat next to it. It worked amazingly. Our pediatrician gave us that advice

My daughter will be 2 in March and our next child is due around her birthday.
To me, it's so worth it. I've completely forgotten about the newborn phase because it's so much fun now. All the stuff I was worried about so early on has melted away and I'm pumped to have another baby to love.
It gets better

I swear I love my son. I will sit here, borderline half nuts from lack of sleep soothing this kid...but this little dude goes absolutely insane about 9PM-2AM.
He is fed, changed, soothed, dry, warm...still screams his head off. He had gas drops, crapped his pampers out and still is all upset.
My entire night consists of putting a pacifier in his mouth after he drops it while he screams. Mind you he is dropping it out.

Ain't no way we have another. F all that noise. People say it gets better but this 1st year drives you absolutely nuts I'm told.
Should have just kept nutting in a sock and been satisfied. Not really but I have those moments of insanity.
Settle in NOOB...
You got a long way to go to get to his teen years when you long for the good ole days when he would just cry when he needed something.

I don’t have kids but 5 or more seems truly insane to me, in this day and age

OP, I remember those days with our first-born and wondered what the hell I got myself into with a newborn. Just give it a few months and it will be all good. Our oldest is a jr in high school, second a freshman in high school , and youngest is 9. Great kids as we are blessed beyond deserving but I’d give anything to go back and relive those early times no matter the lack of sleep, screaming, or poop bombs. Enjoy it, brother.

3 week old twins at the house here so I understand the struggle and then some.
add in the fact we have a 15 month old and an almost 4 year old and needless to say I am a zombie right now. It feels overwhelming at times but the only thing you can do is take it day by day.

That's the easy part, just wait until the teen years. Real hell for parents.

It’s colic. My oldest had it. Try wrapping him snugly and experimenting with soothing sounds: sometimes a vacuum cleaner, sometimes a bathroom fan running, sometimes sitting the baby in the car seat on top of a running clothes dryer. It’s the “huuuuuummmmmm” sound they need.
Try a baby swing. I know the swings say the newborns are too small, but screw that. Jam some small pillows in there with the baby and turn it on.
Buy the infant gas drops.
It will go away, I promise.
