I’m just now feeling better after Type A coupled with pneumonia. I was incapacitated for about 9 or 10 days straight.

Just a PSA, A and B aren't strains. They are categories with multiple strains in each one. A is more dangerous and mutate rapidly and get different severity of symptoms. Like H1N1, those numbers behind the H and N can change and you can either have something mild or something real bad.

I have Flu A right now. Milder symptoms than B, but is super hard to kick. Ob my third day and not much better than my first day.

This was my experience with flu A a couple weeks ago. My husband had fever, but I didn’t (I assumed my symptoms were milder because I got the shot). He got Xofluza and felt better after a few days. I thugged it out without meds because I’m pregnant & didn’t have fever. I was in bed for a full week, coughing and congested and zero energy. It’s been 2 weeks since symptoms hit, and today is the first day I’m not coughing. It sucked a lot.

Both my in laws got the flu shot. Both of them are down with the flu right now. Must be a different strain?

My entire family was vaccinated and we all contracted Flu-A. It suuuucked! It’s been a month and I’m still not 100% so going to get a CXR tomorrow. I don’t want to be compromised if/when Corona rolls into my town.

I didn't take the flu shot last year...never again by the way...got the flu, which didn't trouble me much but the damned pneumonia/bronchitis it left me with darn near did me in. Hope you avoid that.

I had the A strain a few weeks ago. Seemed fairly mild. No fever; just tired and listless

My wife has the A strain now and has been miserable for 4 days.

But if you get the flu, the flu shot does not prevent you from spreading the flu.

I have never seen the flu shot being touted as being able to make you less contagious if you catch the flu.
Not less contagious, but typically if you get the shot you are sick (and contagious) for less time than you otherwise would have been. That means you spread it to fewer people.

Mine has dropped to my lungs, it’s been almost a month, I’m exhausted. Mucinex makes me feel bad. Nothing helps.

People just need to understand that getting the flu shot isn’t just about preventing yourself from getting it. It’s also to help prevent you getting it and spreading it to someone else that could seriously struggle with it.

Yea but if I give it to someone who didn't get their flu shite, frick em right?

I’m sick as heck right now too, - I slept for less than 2 hours last night because I reacted badly to Mucinex and it left me wired. Thank god it doesn’t feel like the flu- it feels like a pretty standard cold. If I get a fever or it drops down from my head to my chest and I get bronchitis, I’m gonna be really bummed.

Obligatory "it's probably corona" comment.

Actually it probably is.
