Social security office is worse. I went there once, after I got married to get my wife's name changed. I think that's why a lot of woman don't change their name back after divorce. It's not worth having to go there again

I hit up an Express DMV earlier, and after 30 min of waiting, they said.. Sorry you have to go to the main DMV on Independence.

Amazing how the bad experiences last with us. As I look back, I've been to DMV offices in six states and one Canadian Province.

The only ones I remember are two in New Orleans, west bank. Different physical locations, both time eaters of the worst kind. And I chose them because others in the area had even worse reputations.

The sad thing was, getting to either early, before opening, I'd encounter folks left over from the previous day who were taking second days off from work and who really weren't sure if they'd need third days off.

Lines down a hallway, down two flights of stairs and out the door by noon.

Never forget Orleans Parish.

Most privates are not allowed to do Real ID compliant licences. I use privates when I can though....worth every penny.

Those private DMV express places can't process everything that the real DMV can... numbnuts.

In my younger more naive days, I went to the DMV in Baton Rouge around 10am. Huge mistake. I stayed there until about 3:30 and left once it became apparent that they wouldn't get to my number that day. The next day I got to that bitch 30 minutes before they opened. It took me like 20 minutes to get serviced that time.

While over there I got to talking to a guy that said he got held at gun point and had his car stolen. Seemed happy as could be to be there considering he'd also been waiting for hours. I guess waiting at the DMV beats getting shot. Good old BR

Did mine on-line this year and it's good for 6 years before I need to head to the DMV for my next license. I can do every other one on-line.
