I got to the one on Veterans in NOLA last week at 7:30, was A004 just needed to change my address on my DL....

The ID making machine was down and they didn't tell anyone, the place was packed an hour later, no chairs line out the door for the check in counter. Number was called at 9:45 once the machine was finally fixed. It was a nightmare.

Got my real Id at the dmv in new roads.
It took maybe 5 minutes as one person was in front of me.

I just renewed my registration online and it was something like a $2 fee to do it online. God help us the day those fricks figure out they can charge us $40 and we'll gladly pay it.

I also think that in certain instances you can renew your driver's license online as well.

I got a 6 year license after waiting 35 minutes behind 4 people for 51$ or so.

Rolled in to the Bossier City location for DL renewal and Real ID. Out in 45 minutes.

A friend went a few days later, and the computers went down for an hour or so. Last month, they shut down all offices for a day statewide due to computer crash.

So your mileage may vary.

I wonder how many baws in the thread think it's a good idea for this same government to handle their health care?

Imagine if the Bernie Sanders supporters ever win

It can be like that when you need healthcare.

Plus it's the bleakest, most sterile environment I've ever seen. I get that it's a government building, but it's just so depressing in there.

Every man has his breaking point at the DMV. They can throw any BS at you at any moment.

"Excuse me sir we only accept $2 bills."

I still have nightmares about trying to get my drivers license at the Baton Rouge DMV when I was 16. The place couldn't hire more rude and inconsiderate workers there if they tried to

Nobody thinks government is competent to handle healthcare or even potholes, but they want it to administer the death penalty even though it has screwed that up multiple times by convicting innocents. I don’t want those idiots having the power to legally kill me or my family members.

Last time I went to that one, I waited hours and my number was finally called. It sent me to an empty station without a worker, then simply moved on and sent people behind me to active stations. I almost had an aneurysm, but thankfully the security guard saw what was going on and helped get me to a person.
