I've never had any social media other than my tigerdroppings account(s).

I deleted Facebook for ~1.5 years, as I don't use it for friends. But it is the best means of finding social events coming: concerts/shows, festivals, arts shows, etc. It is also the best way to get invited to things with friends I don't necessarily text regularly.
I have no interest in quitting Instagram, as 99% of what I follow are local restaurants/bars/businesses. It is the first place I go when I'm looking to see a special somewhere, see if a place is open on an odd day, view happy hour specials, etc.
I rarely use Snapchat, but no real reason to delete it either.
EDIT - I am not at all a homebody, so having social media doesn't really negatively impact my life. I am young, unmarried, without children, not fat, and have a wonderful career. So I'm not one of those folks who get depressed over other peoples' lives.

If you "go dark" when you already have a social media history then you'll be on a list somewhere.
But you can tell us. What are you planning to bomb?

I guess I'm on some list somewhere. Kind of puts a dent on my plans to move to rural Idaho and write my own Unibomber Manifesto

Social media only came into the lexicon when MySpace, Twitter and Facebook came on the scene.
No it didn’t. The term was coined in the 80s. It didn’t become extremely popularized until the above mentioned came about.

Forums are not social media.
By definition they are. This site is a form of electronic communication and place where people share content. You’re thinking of social networking which is a type of social media.

had no interest in twitter, but I found out this morning that twitter will be selecting people for a challenge to go without using a smart phone for a year. The prize is $100,000.
I’d win easily by using a regular phone for work and my iPad for TD

Getting away from Facebook was one of my best decisions of 2018.
I ended up coming back to Instagram and snap but unfollowed all the people I don’t care about and replaced them with meme and comedy pages

My personal brand depends on snapgram chats and Tweetbook reclicks. Always be on brand.

TD is social media. And far more addictive because he just never know what the hell you’re going to find

Baw you do it bc you realize you dont care about 99.9 percent of the "friends" on those platforms. Its dumb, there's only a handful of people that are worth following, the rest of it is just for entertainment. Watching people get divorced or go through meltdowns is always fun. Hell im getting my roof assessed tomorrow and i done even need one!!! #epicthread

So is TD antisocial media?
Kinda is come to think of it
All social media is when you think about it. People don't call their friends anymore...they hit them up on Snapchat, Facebook, or Twitter. Hell, even when people are out with friends, they are on their phones on FB or Twitter.

I’m fascinated by this social media topic. I’m still under 25, so I find it useful, but I also hate how attached I am to it. I normally check it about once a day to see what’s happening. Instagram is good for laughs tho

I quit social media years ago...heres the problem. I spend enough damn time on this stupid site to offset it.
