Yes, everything except TD.
Best thing I did in 2018.

Yeah I don’t really consider TD “social media.” The glory of places like this is you can be yourself or whoever you want to be. That’s much harder to do on sites like Facebook and Twitter if using your real name.

herein lies the problem with social media. Social Media is a great tool, but one I am not in need of at the moment so I am happy I deleted it.

FB is fricking terrible, and Instagram isn't far behind.

BUT

Twitter is great for sports stuff

Ssnapchat is the most practical social media app ive ever used and absolutely does positive things for me. Why any red blooded male wouldn't want an app where females could instantly send them pics of various types is beyond me.

2 phones ago I simply did not install Snapchat and Facebook. I couldn’t tell you the last time I’ve been on either of those

I don't think so. Usenet newsgroups, CompuServe groups, BBS's and internet forums existed long before social media. Social media only came into the lexicon when MySpace, Twitter and Facebook came on the scene.

Forums are not social media. Geocities homepages are not considered social media.

Tigerdroppings is just an old school forum. A totally different animal. We don't have "friends" or follow people on TD. It's not really a social network.

What do you think happens in the IM threads? There is a very real social component to this site.

I don't think of TD as anti-social media but more like anon social media. Unless the TD mob wants to find out who you are, then they can make you non-anon.

Yeah IG can get annoying but is more easily filtered, but it is also not as near as annoying as FB.

I deleted almost all of it besides a few message boards I frequent. Those are all anonymous though so not quite the same.

I bet I can think of 1000 things I did in the last year that would be better than deleting Facebook, but I'm also not an idiot and can not somehow be addicted to political posts and peoples photos.

Not sure it's really a debate, TD/message boards are absolutely social media.

Definition:
quote:

: forms of electronic communication (such as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (such as videos)

That's TD. The "social networking" is thrown in as an example, not a catch all. It ifts all the criteria by definition.

I'm literally one of the few humans that never created a facebook account.

Never did my space either.

No twitter, but I did create an instagram and snapchat so I could see some hotties.

Was not impressed, most of them are trying to sell shite, so I deleted all of that crap as well.

I post on the OT and the political board. I literally do nothing else on social media, and frankly don't understand the people who have time to do so.

Time is finite, most of you spend hours upon hours per week looking at literal nonsense. At the end of days, everyone would trade anything for more time.... most of you will wish you had not wasted yours.

I go to my kid's practices and see all the parents face down in the phone, scanning through the lies of others, giving the thumbs up.

My wife and I actually watch our kids participate. What a novel concept.
