They are different and don't confuse the two.

Tigerdroppings is social media

Didn’t even think of this to be honest.
I’ve always considered it more of a informative forum, just have to remain selective and filter the bs

It takes a bit to unplug, but once you get used to it, you will be much happier.

Got rid of my fb account like 5-6 years ago.

The worst thing that ever happened to fb was expanding the user base past millenials (college kids). There's nothing more lame than seeing older folks on there cluttering up the place with posts about their trials and tribulations.

You laugh, but part of it was all the drama from the parents.

My parents are in their late 60s. Their FB posts are cringy AF. Not trashy but just STFU cringy. And they mix it up and get in political arguments with people. Ugh

I did this and ended up going back to Instagram but staying off Facebook has been good. Should probably get rid of Instagram and reddit tho.

I know others who dropped Facebook but stay on Instagram. They've been happy.

I will never understand the people here that are proud that they can't handle using social media like a normal person and have to not have accounts.

It's so easy to ignore all the stupid people on FB, Twitter, etc while still getting the actual benefits that platforms provide.

I can “handle” social media, I felt it was getting pointless and mundane. Nothing to offer

I thought so too, but to make it really ridiculous, twitter is going to give each participant an early 2000s dumb phone. So you don't even have to be without a cell, you just can't use a smart phone.

Social media is a tool that is horribly misused. But just because something is misused doesn't mean that it's no longer a tool.

I use social media to stay connected with friends and family, stay informed (or misinformed usually), and contribute the rare picture or status.

I just simply unfollow people who post daily about their baby, their food, their self-perceived unique outlook on life that is anything but unique, politics, etc.

Then, I'm left with about 8 people.

Between small town drama and political posts, I couldn't look at FB anymore. It was a terrible cross between the poli and OT.
