What’s something “normal” that people swear is great…that actually overrated?

I’ll go first: brunch is a scam. You wait 90 minutes to eat eggs that cost $18 while drinking watered-down mimosas with people you barely like. Just call it what it is—day drinking with a cover charge.
Other hills I’m willing to die on:
* Gender reveal parties = attention-seeking nonsense
* IPA beer tastes like pinecones and regret
* Destination weddings are a financial hostage situation
* “Work family” is corporate propaganda
* Lines for anything over 15 minutes = automatic no
Let’s hear it. What’s the widely accepted thing that everyone pretends is awesome but is actually overrated?

Brunch doesn't exist. If you are eating a variation of breakfast food, then it's breakfast.

Tajin. It was once good, but now it's on every cocktail and dish and it drives me insane.

Are you even OT material if you have to use AI to come up with an OT thread topic?

AI's writing style is so gay

ChatGPT adapts to its user's style.
I'm actually not joking

There is nothing in there about some random something being trashy. Fail.

Yup.

Maybe to some limited extent, but the post in OP looks like every other AI generated slop I've seen recently.

OT Lounge, Politics and SECR?

Just shows that our AI overlords haven't figured it out yet when it comes to the OT.
Not one "baw" in its attempt. Fail on AI's part.
Edited to add "Bawcomville" as well.

I don't doubt this is true. But as others have said almost all AI written content that I see on social media that's supposed to give off a "I'm getting real with you here but I'm also hilarious" vibe sounds exactly like this:

The worst is when there's like 4 or 5 of them all within a single paragraph. Once I started noticing it I can't help but see it now and it's a massive turnoff.

Im 100% in your hills besides IPAs
I’ll also add people that refuse to use cruise controls and or ride in left lane deserve a public beating.

Do all chat bots do this and if so, how long does it take?
I’d use copilot to do more of my writing but it writes like a middle age woman in academia giving a TED talk.
