The crash has left the bridge severely damaged, Wilrye said. It will remain closed until DOTD assesses its condition and deems it is safe to open.
Was it safe before the crash?

For those more familiar with the traffic in the area, how viable will 210 be as a bypass?

Construction has already started on the new bridge. Most work right now is being done on Westlake side relocating pipes, but actual bridge construction will start this summer.

Also the new bridge needs pistols
A local artist was permitted a real one and she cast it and sells copies. I have one in my office.

$450 is too much
Not paying a penny over $350

Probably wouldn't have anything to do with the fact you could push your finger through what was left of rivets holding the bridge together 15 years ago among other structural issues. Yeah that's not internet Karen fears.
Years ago the debate was wether the bridge would collapse before the project to replace it even started, I guess we did luck out on that one.
It will need to last a minimum of another 6-7 years for the new one to be constructed. If there was a bet on Polymarket for over/under on 10 years to completion I'd bet the house on 10+. The first part of the project isn't even the bridge, that's the I-10 -210 interchange to the base of the bridge. The major brunt of the start of the project will be that.
With that being said, the project being a design build I could see it maybe being done on time maybe just maybe. Money talks.

Just when crawfish prices were starting to come down.

It’s fine as long as people remember it is an highway. It seems lots of people like to drive on it as a scenic drive. It doesn’t take much congestion to clog it up.

Right for people on the West side. Being closed down means the crawfish transporters have a harder time going West. That means more supply on the East side. More supply means lower prices. So this is actually a good thing if you live on the East side.

I am sitting here looking at a real set of pistols that came off of the bridge. Not saying they are mine, just saying I can see them from where I am typing this.......

It's at least partially back open. I don't know if I'm crossing it, but it's open.

210 is an excellent bypass after today I’ll prob start taking it every time, much easier drive all around and you lose no real time

I’d bet big they find the trucker going well over the bridge speed limit, likely weaving lane to lane to pass cars, clipped the car involved. Being cause of the wreck. Just a guess …
My bet is on the POS uninsured vehicle with their flashers on while weaving in and out of traffic thinking they are Cole Trickle on his final lap at Daytona.
