re: 1911 recommendations - sigsauer
I do have to admit for the price the RIAs really are pretty good. Change a few MIM parts out and they really are a good bang for your buck. ...

re: 1911 recommendations - sigsauer
I have or had Colts, Kimbers, Rugers, and even a Dan Wesson, my Sig Tacops has been the most accurate and easy to shoot straight out the box. My Wesson is awesome but I still pull the Sig out of the safe more often than not. Tacop packs can be had for around or under a grand if you look and get luc...

How silly of you to ask that. If they were it would only be the players that Saban would allow to be tested. ...

re: Heading to Sabine to get on the ducks in Cameron Parish - sigsauer
I'm hearing reports from Sabine to Lacassine to rice fields in Welsh and Marshes in Cameron, just no birds anywhere. Opening day is the only time I heard of anyone downing limits of birds, with those mostly teal. Horrible year, I'd hate to be paying top dollar for blinds with no birds. ...

re: The next time you get pissed because it takes FOREVER to fix your roads - sigsauer
MrSmith the turnover at the DOTD has been so bad the last 10 years, so much knowledge and common sense has been lost due to retirement or pay in the private sector ( or bad moral!). I agree most of the Techs these days just don't know as much as they should, and I'm not sure how that gap can be br...

re: The next time you get pissed because it takes FOREVER to fix your roads - sigsauer
I disagree with taking the DOTD out of the picture, in the 25 years I've been involved in construction and inspection the DOTD went from being able to control jobs and force contractors to somewhat do things right to the state we're in now where the contractors have all the power. I feel for any of ...

re: Browning Buckmark vs Ruger Mark IV - sigsauer
I grew up shooting a Ruger Mk2 before I could even pull the bolt back by myself. I love that pistol and still shoot it every now and then. That being said my brother picked up a Buckmark a few years back, it seems to be a better pistol in almost every aspect. Funny thing is my brother just bough...

Please stress gun safety and respect - sigsauer
Please please please stress gun safety and respect with your kids. I have a 14yo daughter that is absolutely devestated and still crying her eyes out after losing her best friend to an accidental shotgun discharge. Not really clear on the details but it sucks. No parent should ever have to see that...

re: LSP tactics last night. A little over the top - sigsauer
Same thing here, caught a Stros game that ran long due to extras innings, I was pulled over 5 times between Houston and Beaumont. First cop was a total dick and almost arrested me for having a loaded weapon in the glove compartment. It was legal, I have a concealed carry permit. The 5th time was ...

re: Bucks that escape from high fence farms.... - sigsauer
I used to hunt a lease around Junction TX. It was a non high fence lease, but it was sandwiched on 3 sides by high fences with high dollar whitetails and exotics. I ended up with quite a few nice animals that escaped the high fences. Being suprised by what walked out of the bush was the best part of...

re: Bucks that escape from high fence farms.... - sigsauer
A woman in Moss Bluff a few years back shot a massive whitetail that had escaped from a pen, I believe she wasn't charged with anything and I think everything the owner of the deer tried to get her to pay for it was also denied. If I remember correctly the deer owner may have been fined due to not r...

re: What will it take to reduce the obesity rate in the US? - sigsauer
I agree on the high fructose corn syrup. How is something that's banned pretty much everywhere else in the developed world legal here? That stuff is truly horrible for the body. I'm not for taking away our rights to choose but there's going to eventually be a tipping point where the costs associ...

Michelle's plan has backfired, ask any teacher. The food is barley edible, so that most kids bring lunches now. My wife is a teacher, she said last year that cafeteria lunches were down somewhere around 40-50%. The kids hate the wheat everything! As far a solution to the initial question, I ofte...
