re: LSP tactics last night. A little over the top - sigsauer
Same thing here, caught a Stros game that ran long due to extras innings, I was pulled over 5 times between Houston and Beaumont. First cop was a total dick and almost arrested me for having a loaded weapon in the glove compartment. It was legal, I have a concealed carry permit. The 5th time was ...

re: Bucks that escape from high fence farms.... - sigsauer
I used to hunt a lease around Junction TX. It was a non high fence lease, but it was sandwiched on 3 sides by high fences with high dollar whitetails and exotics. I ended up with quite a few nice animals that escaped the high fences. Being suprised by what walked out of the bush was the best part of...

re: Bucks that escape from high fence farms.... - sigsauer
A woman in Moss Bluff a few years back shot a massive whitetail that had escaped from a pen, I believe she wasn't charged with anything and I think everything the owner of the deer tried to get her to pay for it was also denied. If I remember correctly the deer owner may have been fined due to not r...

re: What will it take to reduce the obesity rate in the US? - sigsauer
I agree on the high fructose corn syrup. How is something that's banned pretty much everywhere else in the developed world legal here? That stuff is truly horrible for the body. I'm not for taking away our rights to choose but there's going to eventually be a tipping point where the costs associ...

Michelle's plan has backfired, ask any teacher. The food is barley edible, so that most kids bring lunches now. My wife is a teacher, she said last year that cafeteria lunches were down somewhere around 40-50%. The kids hate the wheat everything! As far a solution to the initial question, I ofte...

re: In Hammond for the week - sigsauer
Yes I think that was it. At Tommy's I did get to try the wings and the shrimp scampi. Wings were great. Scampi reminded me of the shrimp from Lunas in Lake Chuck. ...

re: In Hammond for the week - sigsauer
We'll here's my follow up. Made it to Tommy's, Brady's, and Lee's. Luna Rosa from Tommy's was pretty damn good. I have a new found appreciation for Hammond. How nice it was there actually surprised me. SLU is quite a bit bigger than I thought it was. Disappointed I never made it to Middendorfs, re...

re: Anyone spent time in/around Hopkins, Belize? - sigsauer
You may still be able to enjoy the best part of the diving trip without actually having to dive. The Blue Hole was a thing of beauty and a bucket list item, but by far the best dive of the trip was a place called The Aquarium. Its where most live a board yachts anchorand dump food scraps overboard....

re: Anyone spent time in/around Hopkins, Belize? - sigsauer
We wanted to book a Deluxe Treehouse, but they were booked up. Upon arrival a reservation had fallen through so one was available. We split time between the treehouse and the beachfront. Both were very nice. I don't know if it still is, but Hopkins Village was very friendly and safe. We never fe...

I think that's what they called it. But I'd check because that is something you don't want to miss. Look for the ATM trip. It's been a few years since I've been to Hamanasi but it was an amazing experience. I see it's still rated as one of the best places in the entire Carribean. What type of accom...

Everyone is missing a major piece of this story. Why is A&M hosting recruits at a Cajun resturant? Shouldn't they be hosting recruits at a BBQ joint with rainbow flag decorations? ...

re: Body of Mollie Tibbetts found - sigsauer
Years ago I had a family member living in Iowa working at one of the meat packing plants. He got laid off when the company replaced most of the local workers with Hispanic workers. He always said, it was hinted at that they were mostly illegals. ...

I stayed 10 days at Hamanasi in Hopkins a few years ago. Did you book Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM)? It's an amazing cave exploration into the Mayan Underworld/Hell. Swimming into the mouth and throughout the cave system, was the most memorable part of our trip other than diving the Blue Hole and the...

Thanks for the replies. Looks like some decent food over there. I kinda follow a rule, if I'm out of town I try to go to places I can't eat at home. Rules out chains and fast food to experience local haunts. ...

re: Houston steakhouse/other recommendations - sigsauer
I asked this board not too long ago the steak question. The most recommend was Pappa Bros Steakhouse. Hands down best steaks I've ever tasted. Since then I have hit a few other steakhouses in Houston like Vic And Anthony's etc. and Pappas still is number 1 to me. ...
