Dude on the weather channel said, “despite all advancements in technology we are still going to be at the mercy of nature and weather.”

I liked that. Shows a respect for Mother Nature.

Storms along the northern gulf coast typically weaken before landfall due to the water getting more shallow. Looks like this one isn’t going to do much damage for a Cat3 given how fast it’s moving and it’s a small hurricane

Funny how mets say this for hurricanes, yet for Ida it was the "brown ocean effect". The fact that Ida maintained so long after landfall along with the winds on the boats has me believing Ida was more powerful than reporting.

If they are really in the eye and easily drove through the eyewall, Florida might be catching a break.

Oh, now they are admitting it wasn't terribly intense.

The game was cancelled?

Yes. When Hurricane Matthew went a couple hundred miles from the stadium. There was one small cottonball cloud on gameday.

Jim has better footage this time over these streamers. He was really concerned about getting that 6.5 ft. record. The drama though is over the top.

I made the mistake of watching TWC yesterday and in every other sentence, they used the word catastrophic and devastation. My hope is they are trying to scare people into being cautious and leave, but in reality, they're just playing up the drama usually.
