weird because at 7am cdt, it recorded the pressure of 960.6mb, but no wind data since 8.8m/s at 6:30 am cdt

Yeah even in the eye there would be winds higher than 0 kts. The anemometer must have gone out.

As the houses in Cedar Key get swamped on live tv, the residents are swearing about Jim Cantore being in their town. Always bad in Cantore-town.

Parrish. Steady raining now. High winds. We are catching the outer bands. Prayers for those in the Big Bend.

I appreciate it the streams but I haven’t seen one yet that is all that impressive. Either the chasers aren’t where the real shite is, or the wind impacts are going to be relatively moderate.

I love it. Looking like my trip to Orlando today isn’t so far fetched. We comin’

Madison, FL next town in line for that intense northern eyewall band. Going to be a ton of tree damage between Perry, FL and Madison, FL.

You won't want to be on I-10 between Madison, FL and Live Oak, FL for the next couple of hours

Now that we’ve got landfall and a weakening storm we can go back to bitching about the lack of rainfall in LA and TX. Less than 1 inch expected in the next 16 days for most of our area. The patches of rain in the last couple days look like they might be all we get for a while.

Here's the full video of the destruction of the Horseshoe Beach, FL camera moments ago. This camera was at least 10 feet above sea level. Waves were overtaking this camera during its final moments.

Surge is going to be the main story here, as it often is.

And we’ve now lost the Cedar Key storm surge station.

ETA. Never mind. Still available on the main NOAA site.

Somebody please tell Reynolds Wolf that most of those live oak trees are gonna be just fine. They'll shed some branches and come back stronger than ever. That's why they've been there for so long. Nature is destructive but also resilient.
Now those pine trees, they're done. But frick it, they're just pine trees.

Highest official wind gust reported so far in Perry, FL is 85 mph. The portion of the eyewall entering Madison County, FL near I-10 is as intense as it has been since making landfall.
