Of note, Hurricane Idalia yielded the 1st hurricane warning in over 725 days for the Tallahassee, FL area (Elsa, early July 2021).
Which before this event, both the NWS Boston and New York City forecast offices had issued a hurricane warning more recently than there!

Cat 4 starts at 944mb which is almost a certainly just given math and time left to untill landfall

Thank goodness there's nothing super populated between Tallahassee and Gainesville. Feel for the people affected though.

Same thing with a bowing segment of a line carrying 90+ mph winds. No tornado, no care for some folks. It doesn't matter at that point if the wind is rotating or not.
