I might be judging on their misses too harshly, derecho & beryl. If I have a complaint about them, is they try to be too anti-Twitter doom casters which tbf is their motivation for making the site.
That said I read daily and pretty grateful Houston has them

The heavy rain threat still looks legit, but models have scaled back to max amounts of 6-8", which is pretty manageable for most areas of South Louisiana. The key to watch for is whether this tracks farther south than expected and becomes a bit more organized. Some hints of that in the 18z hurricane models.
