The NHS has an experimental surge model.
They have one working for Milton.
It color shades flooding in feet on a street map.
If you zoom in you can see a very clear picture of how deep and how far in from the normal tideline the water will go.
Quite helpful to show people what fifteen feet of surge really means to their neighborhoods.

We were there I think 2011 and FS Allison ‘maybe came through. Wasn’t bad at all honestly. Wet but no lines.

Laura, Delta, and Zeta all hit Louisiana. If Trump gets elected, as a Louisianan, I sure hope he does a better job of keeping the deep state away from the George W Bush Hurricane Machine. It was a rough summer/early fall.

The Canadian said they are telling her that so far, they are open but watching.

Look at that pinhole eye. Also some really deep convection in those dark purple areas.

Showing signs it could be headed that way. It is going to take a while, though.

A cat 3 is a lot different than a TS. This thing will not lose strength quickly once it reaches the Tampa area. That part of Florida is flat.

Interesting thing I heard a Florida DOT guy say in the Weather Channel earlier is that the state of Florida does not do contra-flow on the interstates for hurricane evacuations.

Wow so we do something right in Louisiana.
That sure seems odd that they don’t .. with the numbers needing to evacuate it would make sense to do so.

Still plenty of food at the general store at the resort. Prices are too high in Disney for people to panic buy groceries for the room
They have preparations for food anyway, I don’t think it is necessary but we did get enough for a day. And some booze

I used a model for Ian when I lived in Naples. The projection got to the point where I said nope and got the hell out of town.
