I mean…… the govt used cloud seeding in nam to wash out Charlie from his holes?

Russia did the same for the rain clouds headed toward the May Day parade in Moscow the week after Chornobyl. This issue is scale and how "they" could mobilize the assets and deploy them without the entire world knowing and commenting. I am willing to bet it would take the full production of US dry ice manufacturers' output for months if years and the price of dry ice would skyrocket and by that I mean it would become unobtanium in the civilian market. Not to mention converting every bomber in the US arsenal to cloudseeding, running them 24 hours a day, and still likely not being enough to make much of a dent.

Like many things the gap between theory and practice often makes the Grand Canyon look like something to be filled with spackle.

Frank, did you drive or fly? If you flew I would highly recommend you get a rental car tomorrow just in case you need to haul arse Tuesday and can't get a flight etc. They are cheap in Orlando

I drove. Going to stick it out I think. Staff here is saying the hotel should be safe. But I am worried for the kids.

Im reminded of Irma. She had perfect conditions and feigned a few EWRCs. Some modeling showed similar action tonight.

Havent had a chance to see this hypothesis test since Irma, so Im excited to see how tonight plays out with the EWRC

It just looks like the hurricane is rotating backwards when it's moving due east.
Like it's got left handed threads or something.

Disney travel agent on stormcast said the same. Expect the parks to close Wednesday and possibly Thursday depending on damage:

Parks will likely be open half day or more on Wednesday. I do imagine Thursday being closed.

Keep them occupied and play games and make games up and talk about when they were little.

Dont keep the weather channel on which is what we all do but don’t if they can see.

I said it earlier today, and I’ll say it again: this hurricane is a machine. Yes, it should weaken some before landfall, but don’t underestimate what a monster hurricane can continue to do even if it is gradually weakening.

second eye is pretty small as well.. projected to be about 26 nm.. hard to say how long it will take or which eye will win, but I'm guessing the outer one takes over and it should be fair quick..

Anyone know how long before he hits the LC?

current speed is 10 mph

Planning out activities now. Yacht Club is going to be doing things in lobby for kids too (until shelter in place is required during height of storm).

I'm currently writing this while by the pool. Been a good day in parks today. Drizzle but nothing too bad. Will be doing the Halloween party tomorrow night and Hollywood Studios on Wednesday morning (assuming still open most of the day).

I wonder who at the NHC gets to write the dire "you might die" discussion point tomorrow.

Like watching the rims on a car going down the highway and your eyes do that weird trick where it starts spinning backwards.

Have you ever had to ship something refrigerated and keep it frozen? Dry ice is the answer and in Knoxville only one Fed Ex office will accept it.
TPTB are terrified the dry ice will melt, flood the plane with CO2 and kill the pilots.
I can't imagine transporting large quantities in some sort of flying air tight refrigerator.

There’s a tiny unnamed atoll north of the Yucatan that actually has a building on it. Will be curious to see if it still exist by tomorrow.

Does anyone know if there is a map or chart that shows how far inland they are expecting the water to come in? All I can find are these rough colored maps that dont show distance

Thanks
