Always defer to playing the game. Football is for the tough people.
Everyone else can just deal with it.

In this age of shutting down games for lightning strikes 50 miles away...
... little more what-if might have been considered.
At least for those viewers at home.

NE eyewall metrics were much lower than earlier pass thru the more middling section of E eyewall.
Don’t think it’s a sign of deterioration, as appearance is still strong on satellite. More likely just confirming the true E eyewall as strongest section of storm.

Helluva summertime afternoon thunderstorm to be blowing down trees, huh?
Biggest tree on my property that has blown over was during a relatively minor afternoon thunderstorm. 40 foot oak blew over and took another pinectree with it to the ground.
Yes, some afternoon storms can be serious

Research Pilot Town and the Hurricane of 1906. Over 2k residents vanished in the Hurricane. Survivors were said to have tied themselves to the top of the trees. Near Peninsula Golf Course is Wallace Cemetery and Miller Cemetery. That’s where they settled and built a new community after 1906 storm.

This is a majorly stupid, selfish arrogant move. But it is Bama and and their cheerleader Sankey, so not surprising.
Why do you think it’s Bama driving these decisions?
From what I’m hearing this is ABC/ESPN leaning on the league office who is leaning on Bama to kickoff come hell or high water.
If anything Bama fans are the ones getting screwed by being told we have to either not go or drive through an actual tropical storm to attend then sit in the stadium for two hours pre kickoff so the president can get positive PR before the midterms.

A local meteorologist feeling entitled to the weather in his area.

The BGM sounds suspiciously like "The Tide is High" but polka and piano...
ETA: Ok, they have moved on, but I swear I heard what I heard.

Good for Sprinks. Need more mets to call out weather entertainers like Spann.

The center of circulation remains on the right side of the forecast cone and is approaching the edge. I think the NHC is going to shift its cone and its midpoint even more east at the 10am advisory.

Eh, it is kind of annoying that some jackass in central Kentucky can drum up panic for clicks while the meterologists that are actually affected and trying to not cause a panic are drowned out.

Here is the thread I started for links to live cameras, live coverage and chaser streams links. I’ve requested that thread be stickied but no luck on that so far.

National media this morning (I'm in East TN) was sky screaming about this being one of the worst storms to ever hit the gulf coast.
I just changed the channel. Not saying they're wrong, but I can't trust them.
What are we thinking this thing looks like at landfall? Cat 1?

Looks like shear is starting to work on the western outflow a bit more. Hopefully, we see some decent weakening before landfall.
