You provided laughter and ease to a stressful situation. Thank you. Long range rifle laser finder.

Hope your husband still has the rifle to go with the range finder. It might come in handy for popping uninvited wildlife on your property after the storm.

If you don't do anything else to prepare, make plenty ice. No ice sucks.

I got almost 5' of water in my condo during Isaac. Water started coming in about 3:00am on a Wed. Power went out about 6:00am. Water didn't go completely out until late Saturday morning. Power came on about 15 minutes before the LSU vs Texas St game kicked off. I can't tell you how good that a/c felt after 3-1/2 days without it.

Image location forecast today, eight days later:

Amazing how well the models have done for this.
Everyone has said over and over that models can be slightly unpredictable more than three days out, but it's stayed well within the cones.

My favorite has been the 10-15 who posted over the last several days that there must be a mistake because it hasn't made it's turn north. Well duh, it wasn't expected to yet.
The one guy was being such an arse about it and arguing so they banned him I think.

For Katrina a group of my friends went out in New Orleans the Friday night. I had a poker tournament in BR that night so I didn't go to Nola. No one was overly worried about the hurricane. It was going to hit Florida. Woke up Saturday morning, turned on the TV and freaked the F out. shite changed overnight.

Looks like we're getting into our second Katrina debate of the day a bit earlier than expected.

******** NOT A TRACK OF IRMA *********

The fact that you and your friends were clueless and/or just didn't give a shite about the forecast that afternoon doesn't make the NHC wrong.

What everyone is talking about waking up Saturday is that it went from a weak 3 to a 5 overnight.

Wife talked to her family. They have bags packed and ready to go when they need to. I wish they'd leave now. Getting scared it might be too late after today.

Northeast of there. It looks bad on 75 and I imagine it'll only get worse tomorrow.

Probably not going to make a north turn for at least another 32+ hours or so. Euro looks like it went slight further west. Panhandle better be on alert they've consistently moved this storm further west past day.

Rummy, its time to start the thread where you permaban the "OMG the track shifted 10 miles West" idiots, the idiots busting Peej's balls, and Peej so that the people who know what the frick they're talking about can get info to people who need it without all the OT nonsense. It's getting closer to go time.

Can we also add the this is just like(Insert Hurricane here) crowd.

Thank you for being a voice of reason in this thread slackster. People look to this thread for information, not I have a "feeling" or "gut instinct". The Euro and NHC models have been very consistent with this hurricane. This thread is on the verge of going full retard.
