1. What is the specific risk to them that you're worried about?
2. Where would they go?

Holy Sobriety!!!
If you think the lines are long at the gas stations, try going to your local liquor store in the next few hours.

Talk about government overreach. This is fricking bullshite.

Are you in cape coral? That's the only place i've heard of this.

Checked with my buddy in Tallahassee and he hasn't heard anything about a statewide ban yet either.

The fact that you and your friends were clueless and/or just didn't give a shite about the forecast that afternoon doesn't make the NHC wrong.

Not wanting to add fuel to the fire, but I was out in NOLA the Thursday night before and it was pretty much understood that Katrina was coming to NOLA.

I actually advised some tourist that it would be a cool story to tell so they should probably stick around and ride it out in the FQ.

We left Friday midday with little traffic. Yes, people knew it was coming, but it was still very much wait and see because no one thought it would be a CAT 5.

Is Euro ensembles out yet? I'd be interested to see where the spread is on it or how tight it is.

Looks like they're going to take a direct hit. Grandfather is in assisted living, grandmother is with aunt and uncle.

Ideally, fly to dallas.

Yes, that's right, Irma is staying well inside of the 5 day forecast, following it almost exactly.

The east and west shifts with the models are volatile, but the NHC takes all of that and puts together a damn fine forecast and gives you a cone of uncertainty to boot. If you're in that cone you should take it seriously. If you're near the cone you should monitor the situation.

They might be more receptive if you specifically tell them which flight to get on. I'd head over to the Travel Board and post in CuseTiger's thread. He can help you with options.

Probably not going to make a north turn for at least another 32+ hours or so. Euro looks like it went slight further west. Panhandle better be on alert they've consistently moved this storm further west past day.
