The Turks and the Bahamas are fricked.

Might be time to buy some land there in the coming weeks/months.

Okay well damn no contraflow seems kinda mind boggling at this point.

2 lanes wont deal with that kinda traffic.

Any chance the eyewall skirts north of Turks and Caicos with the more NW movement?

Doesn't that really bode poorly for storm surge purposes along the Florida coast?

The ole Katrina factor, good question.

It's not good but forward speed (as Pedro reminded me yesterday), overall wind speed, and angle of approach also matter. The more parallel to the coast, the better.

IIRC most of FL's east coast is not very susceptible to storm surge.

PSA for anyone driving north from sfla. US1 north pretty much normal traffic from west palm all the way up to Melbourne. Think it's much easier than being in 95 or turnpike right now.

I'm tired of the sphincter emotional swing with each model update for HHI. It's currently back set to *high* after a morning of some relaxation

Caribbean is prime if one storm makes it over there any time in the next couple weeks. Gulf has warmed up since last week too

Likely just a wobble to the north. It will wobble more west at times then more north other times. It won't move in a constant straight direction

St. Martin could get hit again. Unreal. Won't be a direct hit from a Cat 5 but not exactly comforting with all of that debris everywhere.

I hope they are able to be contacted and notified that Jose is coming. This would be devastating if they arnt expecting a direct hit.
