They know where the money comes from down there. You'll be surprised at how quickly they focus their efforts to get tourism up and running again.

1. Correct, it took them less than a week to clean up after the cat2 in '14.
2. Most of the tourists stuff closed in September and October because it was the ultra slow season. They will have most of the tourist stuff back going by November for the start of high season.

We will see. They tend to come together in those small islands better than the US.

Yep. Half of them are related and the other half are related too.

I'll see you baws in Columbia this weekend. We're heading out Friday morning. Any place I can watch the Clemson game?

Ya, I think if this sucker keeps heading our way it's going to get real crowded real quick here in Cola.

As for the game...you might want to just keep driving up to Clemson

Dumb question I am about to ask. If Miami-Ft.Laud were impacted or even GA/SC. With Harvey already making materials scarce, wouldn't this impact materials making its way down to some islands?

The hotels and resorts get the materials they need, and the locals just have to re-build their shacks out of leftover 2x4s and roofing tin again.

I cant imagine what that wind was like.
What I find so crazy is that it's basically an EF-4 tornado wind speed.

We fricked if this thing stays off land in florida.... unless she keeps turning northeast after she misses florida and slams into myrtle beach or NC...

St. Martin won't be doing shite for the next 6-12 months.

I wonder what sort of support they get from the French/Dutch governments?

Or Anguilla & the BVI from the UK... so far other than Barbuda everything that's been hit hard has been an overseas territory.

I assume those countries have some sort of aid plan when this sort of things happens to their territories... just never had a reason to look into it.

I've got some large pine trees in my yard (forest acres area). I'm not feeling great about this forecast here.

I mean, a couple days ago, people were saying that it was going to make landfall in Florida.

Prepare yes. But this can easily change.

Listening to his commentary, doesnt sound like it. He is talking about his fence being down and a shutter got blown off is neighbors house. I doubt a house was there

Surprised the NHC shifted that far east with the considerable ensamble split still there, but those guys are pretty much the best in the world at this.

Still have a West coast of Florida solution and OTS on the board though, showing the considerable possibility spread still in play.
