Hey came across board. I live in Tampa it's getting real down here. I was lurking but wanted to thank you guys for everything you have been doing.

Irma is only at 185, not 200

I don't know how you evacuate the whole state of Fla, you still don't know what areas could get the brunt of the storm. You could leave one area and end up right in the path of the storm with a wobble here and there.

In the Atlantic, that would be correct. I think 215 MPH is the global record.

I appreciate that you made your first post about the Modern Family girl and didn't waste it in this thread.

It's going to be close. To close.

It's like none of these people have ever been through a real hurricane
That's probably not that far off the mark, sadly. Think about how many Northerners retire and move to Florida. The last major hurricane to hit Florida was Wilma in 2005.
It's a good bet that a lot of the snowbirds that were alive then are no longer alive and have been replaced by new snowbirds that have no real clue of the magnitude of what they're staring down.

The whole state will not be evacuating much less under mandatory evacuation.

Everyone from Louisiana is too worried about Irma. We need to start preparing for HURRICANE LEE who wants to enact revenge on New Orleans. I'm much worried about Lee.
You're such a shitty poster.

Matthew was a Cat 5 at one point too. It was the real deal. Some areas lucked out. Some received massive devastation.

Technically speaking most dont arrive until October/November.
But I do get what you are saying, and it makes sense.

I met a few people there this summer. Their houses were solid concrete, concrete/sand floors, and no windows. Very basic.
Newer construction in Florida are subject to some strict new codes adopted after Andrew. I hope it isn't tested, but I do feel better knowing that it is there.

Gusts to 220. Sustained 185.
And it is going to be a wide storm. Definitely no joke. I think it will strengthen a little more.
