Katrina crossed it perpendicularly. This one, like Michael, will be running parallel with it almost all the way to landfall. It is part of the reason for the high ceiling.

Ocean heat content highlighting the loop current and a microsoft paint current forecast track superimposed over it. It has a chance of running the length of it to the coast.

This one is wild to me. It’s gonna cover roughly 900 miles in 48 hours. And it’s still not even a named storm. Thank God we have the ability to forecast these things.

It's Tuesday morning right now, correct?
And it's still not a named storm at the moment, correct?
And they've got it to be a Major hurricane in 48 hours pinpointed to a fairly narrow area of the coast. Correct?
I'm impressed.
Amazon Prime shipping can't give me a expected delivery date with as good as precision as this.

Just glad for those involved they've got time to prepare. No Isaac's storm here.

Just changed my stuff, even though I think I could have moved and gotten out Wednesday afternoon, but flights are almost 100% booked at this point. Not worth the fight and risk.

People running for the high ground.

2 pm Wednesday is the first time they are forecasting it will be a hurricane. 24 hours later it's a major hurricane.

She's going to be moving and growing quick!

This thing hasn’t gotten itself together yet. I’m skeptical it reaches major status. Running out of time to build the core it needs to undergo RI
