Yeah the abaco beach resort isn’t something spectacular that will sustain what’s coming. Lots of boats and property will be demolished. Sad.

Surprisingly or maybe not, there are plenty of solid concrete homes there.

After this thing gets done with the area, they may well be solid concrete homes w/o roofs, or with blue tarp roofs.

Pair of dropsondes measure a surface pressure of 921mb with a 14 kt and 16 kt winds, respectively. Adjusting, true pressure is 919-920mb. That's an 8-9mb pressure fall in about 2 hours. #Dorian is undergoing quick intensification this morning.

That western eyewall is about 12 miles off of the island now.

It’s going to be 3 or 4 days before anyone can get back out there too.

This is as extreme as it ever gets. Prayers for the Bahamas. And Florida, don't sleep on this one. We still cannot guarantee that #Dorian will stay offshore. Be ready just in case.

Sobering words from Levi.

For all of those it depends how far west it makes it before making the north turn.

Jax will be fine. Mayport Naval station will break out their high pressure machines like always. Sorry Carolinas.

TV coverage has been meh so far. No live video from Abaco or Marsh Harbor Airport (Bahamas).

They’ve been practicing reporting while leaning into the wind so long you’d think they would be excited to finally try it out for real. Bunch of phonies.

People on wunderground are talking about a storm this size having the ability to control their own environment. They are citing Irma as an example. Hopefully this thing is steered out to sea sooner than later.

I have a buddy who was supposed to be on a Disney cruise out of Orlando right now. They didn’t cancel the cruise, but my friend backed out. Apparently, they just extend the cruse by a few days and don’t guarantee that you come back to the same port. Insane.

Three or four of them say it in a row like it is their own original idea and then it starts a circle jerk of validation because someone had the same opinion.

This dropsonde in the NE eyewall of #Dorian just measured a surface wind of 202 mph. Dropsonde measurements are instantaneous, so this is likely a gust, but still...

Duke Energy is confident. Well I am happy for them. But I pray to God that they are not leaving us too soon. Until Dorian turns North, I sit in Marion County not 100% certain of anything with regards to Dorian!
