They also claim every tropical wave will become a category 5 hurricane, so they are patting themselves on the back this morning.
All I know is if I lived in the Bahamas I would treat every potential hurricane as a direct hit Cat5 and GTFO while I could.

I have a buddy who was supposed to be on a Disney cruise out of Orlando right now. They didn’t cancel the cruise, but my friend backed out. Apparently, they just extend the cruse by a few days and don’t guarantee that you come back to the same port. Insane.
I had a friend that was on a Disney cruise when Sandy was rolling by. They never cancelled the cruise, they never ported anywhere, and ultimately the passengers were forced to remain in their staterooms due to the rough seas. and Sandy didn't hit them. I can't imagine what that, or any other Caribbean cruise, is doing now.

Where does one evacuate if you live on Grand Bahama? What is the surge associated with this storm? The high point appears to be 40feet.

We are ready for this big bitch to turn north. It’s been tracking right for WPB for days and I think I can speak for everybody here in saying we want out of the cross hairs.

Dorian Lightning
I don't think I ever seen so much lightning in the eyewall of a hurricane quite like this.

Very spooky seeing this thing this close to Florida and heading straight for it. Let’s hope the current projection is right

I have no idea, but just googling images of Abaco Island, I would not ever even attempt to ride out a hurricane there.
Edit to make clear: I wouldn’t attempt to stay put for any hurricane even remotely close to the island. With how quickly they change their path, I’d never feel secure in a place with no real shelter.

I wonder if it is considered an annular storm now?
Meaning...No eyewall replacement cycles, just pedal to the floor.

I have friends in Palm Beach Gardens & Jupiter that have stayed based upon earlier out to sea forecast......I think I would leave based upon current strength & track.

I think it’s safe to say that

Ironically, (coincidentally?) there is a general travel like show on our local ABC channel right now showing a local providing touristy trivia about Nassau.
Obviously an old show, but at least Nassau proper may be spared the worst.
