Is Huntsville "landlocked" by other municipalities?
I'm not sure how much growing Birmingham city can do since it's surrounded by another city in just about every direction.
I'd rather compare metro areas, rather than just city population.

17,000 people over 8 years isn’t impressive. Maybe for Alabama but when Houston was exploding that was a solid month it seemed.

Nope. In fact Huntsville has almost landlocked Madison.

When I was house hunting there were several times I thought it would be Madison or Harvest and it was Huntsville. Up north it gets weird with the zoning on whether you are in Madison, Harvest, or Huntsville.

Being the best city in Alabama is like being the gold medal winning retard at the special olympics.

I reread that a few times to make sure he actually typed that. I was thinking... "...waaaaaht!?!"

PS: mustard on BBQ is a South Carolina thing, Alabama BBQ is a slight twist on the mollassis based BBQ from North Carolina and Tennessee. We put a "white sauce" which is a spicy vinegar based sauce on our poultry

It is not, in fact, that fact alone is one of the biggest reason the "city" keeps growing so much, they keep annexing lands well out of their original state county even

We do put mustard slaw on our BBQ and most places can't make it worth a crap.

City limits don't mean a thing. Impressive growth, and not a bad place at all, but you can't tell me Huntsville's metro will overtake Birmingham's metro population in just six years.

City limits are misleading. Hell, BR is more populated than Birmingham in the city limits.

We live just inside the city limits. You can leave my neighborhood, take a right and you'd be out of the city without ever knowing it.

I don't think if you counted all the people in North Alabama you'd equal metro Birmingham's population.

What I figured.

City limits are so misleading.

Even if it does surpass Birmingham city, which I highly doubt will happen in only 6 years, the Birmingham metro will still dwarf the Huntsville metro

Ya, because that's all there is to eat in Huntsville

These dumb coonass swamp fricks on this board used to say the same shite about Bham bc they can't imagine a good meal without mudbugs pulled from ditches, now we're rolling in James Beard Award winning restaurants and chefs and considered by the experts probably the best food city outside of major cities in the US.

Not to say Huntsville can hold a candle to Bham in the food scene (or really any other way except space related jobs), but this site is constantly letting their massive insecurity over how awful Louisiana is hang out
