Uh, Highlands and Johnny's? That's just the James Beard boys off the top of my head.

Yes, there is, although it's still in "colony" status...

Head out of town to the Greenbrier Restaurant for the free hushpuppies

These are hands down the best hush puppies that I’ve eaten in my 40+ years living in the South. I will go out of my way to have them.

I sold a house there 2 years ago before I moved to Albuquerque and made a 50% gain after owning for 4 years, granted it had sweat equity. Since then the owners didn't upgrade anything, but sold it for 20% more. I knew I should have just rented, but with your first baby on the way you've gotta take cash flow.

I can't believe I'm defending B'Ham. It goes against everything I was raised on. The only city that would be worse for me to defend is cowtown...err...Auburn.

Meh, Auburn is a great town. I enjoy Tuscaloosa. I don't see fault seeing good qualities, regardless of a sport rivalry.

Of course it is. I just hate having to defend it on principle.

I’ve lived all over the country and I thought Round Rock was the best place I’ve lived. I must say that Huntsville is pulling ahead. Absolutely amazing city.

Yeesh...

Fairhope > Birmingham > Huntsville.

Huntsville’s proximity to Nashville and Chattanooga is pretty cool

Is there an LSU alumni association chapter here? All my neighbors are Auburn grads.[/quote]

No, we have a very active chapter in Birmingham and we have some members who live in Huntsville.
