re: How would you rate your Father’s Day?

Great. Was woken up in the manner every man wants to be woken up too, went to church with the family, ate an absolutely stupid amount of good food, and am now just hanging with the family to wind down the day.

10/10. My son and 2 grandkids came over. We cooked hamburgers and homemade fries. My son put together a piece of furniture I needed do store my fishing rods in and we fished in the pond. Caught a bunch of bass and bream, threw them all back and watching CWS together now. Rooting for NC as I don’t like Big Orange and having my second cocktail.

It doesn’t get much better than this.

Pretty terrible for the most part. 3 yr old woke me up at 6 am. But that’s ok. We made coffee and hung out for a bit. Then I hit the couch watching tv. Wife is going crazy deep cleaning the house. Wants to pick a fight with me for not helping. Pulled out the “what did I ask you to do on Mother’s Day” card before 9am. She’s been pissy ever since. 3 yr old feeds off of her so it’s just been one tantrum after another. If it’s not the kid it’s the wife. I’m on the patio drinking an old fashioned and watching the CWS now. So it ain’t all bad.

Mine started out about a 3. Had to catch and sort cattle to sell in OKC tomorrow and replaced a light on the trailer.
Then it was a 1 I attended a family and visitation for a friend that passed.
Turned into a 10 when my kids come over to eat with me. Mine day rating was all over the place.

I have grandkids so both my son and my son in law are also Dads. They both work hard Mon-Fri providing good lives for their families, so I wanted them to be able to relax at home today and enjoy their family time.
With that said we had them along with my dad, over yesterday for a visit and supper. My wife, daughter and daughter in law prepared a terrific meal. We had hamburger steak /mashed potatoes and cream gravy with fried okra, southern fried cabbage and corn bread. Peach cobbler for desert. My son got me a nice digital meat thermometer and my daughter bought me a book to journal my life in. It’s actually pretty neat in that it is just kind of fill in the blanks. It asks different things spanning from my childhood to now. What life was like, my views and feelings on different things. What my life experiences and memories are. Will be a neat thing for my grandchildren and great grandchildren to look at later after I’m gone so they will still get a sense of who I was.
This morning, my wife made biscuits and gave me some beats earbuds that I had been wanting. After that we just sat and relaxed in bed literally all day.
She is in the tub soaking now and we about to have sexy time. So yeah all in all I couldn’t have asked for more.
