I’ve cut back on my mileage a bit this summer. Last 2 months were mostly focused on shorter sprint stuff (100m-400m), which was fun and a nice change up. Also been incorporating more strength training to be a little more well-rounded.

Hoping for good weather for Cajun Cup 10k in November (been very hot the last 2-3 years). Would love to get as close as I can to 36:00 in the 10k. Current PR is 37:18 in shite weather. Gonna run Houston Marathon again in January to try and snag a 2:49:59 or better…

Just wanted to add for others who may be still skeptical, that I corroborated your story with someone else who knows your dad well. He said:
