I had multiple surgeries in the course of one year after my deductible was met.

I think I had 4 or 5 visits to the OR.

Too bad you’re not an illegal, all those bills would be covered by tax payers.

I'm actually in the same boat OP, so thanks for asking this.

I'm 42...so I guess a colonoscopy would be a good idea anyway for me at this age.

Anyone else got anything useful to suggest?

Why would a vasectomy be free under a health insurance plan? A vasectomy doesn’t have a long term health benefit like a colonoscopy does. The purpose of a vasectomy is to prevent you from having to pay child support for 18 years, which is not something that the health insurance company is going to care about.
