re: How old were you when you gave up on life and moved to the suburbs?

31 and still an Inner Looper...don't plan on leaving this bubble until retirement.

The houses are smaller, more expensive, and closer together... But essentially this is correct. I live very close to downtown in a major city (not Austin at the moment) and besides having a few restaurants and bars within a few blocks, it definitely has a suburban feel.
This doesn't really hold true for all cities obviously. I think Seattle has a very urban feel in a lot of areas outside of downtown. And NYC goes without saying...

Grew up in the city. Still live in the city at 32. Suburbs might be for some people, but I'd blow my brains out if I had to live in the burbs. I like the city and I like the country. Nothing in between.

Same boat. Grew up in the swamp, currently living in the burbs and looking to buy 18 acres in southwest Mississippi. Can't wait!!

This is actually accurate, unless your city neighborhood sucked. Biggest differences are more peace of mind when the kids are running about, more expensive Uber ride to see third eye blind in town. Solid trade in my opinion.

They aren't. Burbs are usually neighborhoods adjacent to a city. You probably can't tell when you leave one and arrive in the other.

I live in a repurposed Minuteman II silo.
It's always 72F & DEFCON 0 in here.
Do you concur?

This is an unoriginal, mindless statement. As another has said, in many instances there is little difference between the city and it's burbs. I spent my first thirty years in New Orleans and it was of no significant difference between that and those I knew who lived in Metairie. Now I live in Madisonville, and because of these things called automobiles, I can get to a five star restaurant in 10-15 minutes. If I want something else, it's a mere 45 minutes to New Orleans. The benefits are I don't get guns pointed at me as frequently(3 times in Nola).

If you couldn't discern between Kenner and the Garden District or CBD or Midcity or Quarter on sight you would indubitably have severe cognitive handicaps.
