This is as ridiculous as the guy who said he'd rather blow his brains out than live in the suburbs. Because drinking and drugs aren't a problem outside of the city.

Yea well my wife is a nurse and wants to continue working in LA so that drive isn't bad for her. I'm an industrial electrician and work in the plants so my drive would sick driving to BE or Nola. I eventually wouldn't mind taking a pay cut and find a maintenance gig in Mississippi.

I agree most people pretending to be too adventurous for a suburb simply want to be closer to bars. They aren't doing anything that exciting. The rent eats up half their paycheck anyway.

Early 40s and have lived in cities since my mid 20s (before that Old Metairie just outside of NOLA).. I'm just not a fan of commutes and cookie-cutter stuff.. beyond that, i think some people just prefer cities, some the country and some the suburbs, no right or wrong, just whatever you choose to prioritize.
