I feel it is a combination between the new police chief and the influx of the state police
This board won’t listen to it, but NOPD is a lot more visible since the arrival of the state police. Seems to be making a significant impact.

Crime definitely down variety of reasons
Cyclical criminals killed each other off
DA trying juveniles as adults
I always thought it was a small group of people committing most of the crime.

Jason Williams would be on board with this...
I think City Council, constituents, local media, and his own personal run in with armed carjacking forced his hand.

Does it have anything to do with the fact that the Louisiana State Police is now babysitting New Orleans, and the State Attorney General is now prosecuting the crimes the LSP charges instead of relying on NOPD & Jason Williams?

Troop Nola and the feds have been kicking in doors, chasing criminals, and cracking skulls for months. The feds got the ball rolling before Troop Nola set up shop

Police went from non-existent to everywhere, now. I don't drink and drive anymore.
It’s truly a night and day difference
Jokes aside, drunk driving was basically legal until this summer

Inflation is killing ammo prices.

Charge them with Aggravated Assault instead.
They didn't INTEND to kill...it was just to scare the now dead guy cuz the shooter was disrespected.
