I think I paid the shelter $100 each for our last 2.

I’d adopt, but I was given a dachshund a while back from a family friend, and I want another one so he has someone to play with and stops annoying our cats.
Why do you think that your dachshund will only play with another dachshund?

Paid $800 for my lab. She’s 13. Would have been $600 if we didn’t want breeding rights. Never needs her though.
Paid $500 for my GSP. He’s 7 months.
I think $1500 for these labradoodles is crazy.

Don’t know how much my ex wife costed me, but easily 6 figures. So I guess we can go with that figure.

Zero dollars, if I had to, I would pay a monthly fee to not have a dog.

I always point out the initial cost of a puppy is nothing compared to the long term costs.
I completely understand the shelter dog route but you can tell a lot from the health and temperament of a dog's parents.

Paid $1500 for my Vizsla and another $2500 to send her to bird school.

I paid like $60 for my purebred German shepherd at the shelter. Was the best choice ever

$2k for our Vizsla. worth every penny.

I've never paid for a dog until we spent $300 on our Texas Heeler. Glad we did, great dog.
I would never go over $500 myself.

My pup wandered up to my parents house so he was free. Or at least he was until his dumbass got out and got hit by a car. Now I have a thousand dollar dog. Great dog though.
