Crawfish Aquatics, behind Lafayette High, has a coached Master's swim program. MWF 5:30am - 7, and Tu-Thu 6 - 7:30. City of Lafayette Aquatics (COLA) has a Master's class but I'm not sure of their schedule. If you happen to have a spouse that works for UL Lafayette you can join the rec center for...

The numbers at all local Sprint and Olympic distance races have been plummeting for years. Unfortunately people now find slogging through a 12 hour Ironman is a bigger accomplishment than trying to break two hours in an Olympic. Nobody wants to go fast anymore and the fun races are paying the price....
That is actually a very fun race that is well run. There isn't any boating traffic during the swim leg. The bike is an out and back that goes around to the opposite side of the river and back. The run goes the opposite direction of the bike through a neighborhood and back....
As a Cajun fan/alum, it sickens me that I'm actively hoping they flop in this tournament and then whatever talent we have left goes to Lake Charles.. Whatever it takes to get Bob Marlin and his sycophants out of town
Happen to know what's going on with Themus Fulks this time ar...
The Clash - London Calling. I was only 10 when it came out but i'd never heard anything like it. It was my introduction to punk and reggae and opened my ears to so many new artists....
Driving down HWY 90 from Lafayette, right before Patterson we saw a black bear sitting in the grass on his haunches watching traffic go by. Wish I had to time to get a pic. ...
Best course in Louisiana is parc des families in marrero though
Have you had a chance to play at the Broussard Baseball/Soccer complex? I just started last year and I lose 2 discs on average at that park either in the water or the woods. I can only compare it to Acadiana Park and...
Was more sharing that downtown is not as bad as it is made out to be. The areas outside of downtown are beaten up and sketchy.
Thank you, I understand. I do see quite a few small homes on AirBnB right by campus with good reviews....

I appreciate the recommendation but I'd really like to not stay at a hotel. We will be there five nights and I'd really like my own kitchen to not have to eat out that often. I will check the downtown area for condo's. Thanks again....

Thank you Gents for the help. Yes, the meet is indoors. We're still concerned about the possibility of snow but I guess we'll deal with it. Directions on Google Maps says about 17 minutes from Quince/Ridgeway to UM but I guess with traffic you never know. We'll keep looking but right now this on...

Memphis in January

Posted by kritra on 9/18/23 at 11:01 am
Hi All, We will be heading to Memphis in January for a swim meet at the University of Memphis. Reading through an earlier thread it seems the consensus was to stay in Germantown. I would rather an AirBnB than hotel so I can cook my own food. Is the area around Quince Rd/Ridgeway Rd. far e...

Kind of a two pronged question so thought this board would be best. My son will be attending a swim camp at St. Martins Episcopal next month. We'll drive in Friday, camp is all day Saturday. I want to use up some Wyndham points and see there are two La Quinta's and a Ramada at I10/N. Causeway. A...
And I’ll gladly pay that premium instead dealing with the b.s. of a regular dealership. As I said, both times purchasing from them were good experiences. YMMV....
Carmax. I’ve purchased two vehicles from them. Both times I had a trade in and they gave me fair value. Both vehicles I purchased lasted past 100,000 miles. If they don’t have the car you want on the lot they can ship it from another Carmax location. ...
We passed it just after it happened. The tail section looked fine but the cockpit was pretty mangled. Looked like a nose dive straight to the ground. Didn’t see evidence of any fire from our vantage point....
Are Joan Jett & the Blackhearts not on the bill yet? I know they will be playing in Houston. It'll be my 9th time seeing them live. At 63 Joan can still bring it....
I would look anorexic at 170. 190-195 was my goal. I'd have to start running marathons to get to 170
And there it is....

I taught Water Survival and HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) for people going offshore. I was, and still am, shocked at the number of people who work offshore that not only don't know how to swim, but are absolutely petrified of water....
