How much would you pay for a dog?

Looking to get another pup and some of these breeders are asking like $500
I’d adopt, but I was given a dachshund a while back from a family friend, and I want another one so he has someone to play with and stops annoying our cats.

You have a wiener dog.
But to the question, I paid $60 total for my 2 dogs.

My past two dogs have been strays we took in. Got a border collie from the pound about 25 years ago and all I remember paying was the price of the shots.

Georgey was 600. I was the "get a shelter dog" person but honey bunny demanded a golden doodle. The kids love him. Divorce is no longer an option, as it would be unsettling for him.

Does it fit in your purse?

Last one we bought was $1500. Registered lab out of National field champions on both sides.

Typically $4,000. That would be about $60 to adopt the pup and the rest to help the shelter purchase food/supplies for the other animals.
I didn’t do that. But that’s what I would do if I were you.

A pure bred Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy (show quality) goes for about $3000.

Whatever the shelter adoption fee is, so $100-150 tops. I'm not a person who thinks I'm better than anybody for adopting rescues, I'm just cheap.

To each his own, but I’m amazed at how much people are willing to pay for a dog these days.

Look at local breed specific rescues

$500 is nothing. I've seen some pay over $1,000 for certain breeds
